Algerian Pres. receives Spanish FM


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Algerian President Abdulaziz Bouteflika received Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo on Saturday

The meeting was attended by Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra, the Presidency said in a statement, adding that Margallo's two-day visit, at the invitation of Lamamra, aims at boosting Spanish-Algerian political consultation and dialogue in accordance with the treaty of friendship, cooperation, and good neighborliness signed in October 2002

Meanwhile, the Spanish minister attended a Spanish-Algerian economic forum, attended by over 60 Spanish institutions in Algeria

Algeria is Spain's key partner as it also has an important place at Madrid's political agenda, Margelo said during the forum, adding that his country is ready to boost its cooperation and partnership with Algiers, particularly in tourism, food manufacture, water resources, transportation, fuel, and renewable energies

On Algerian investment in Spain, he said his country welcomes Algerian companies wishing to invest, and the Spanish government will take necessary procedures to make investment easier

In addition, the Spanish top diplomat said that Spanish laws were the most flexible in the world

He said business meetings are regularly arranged with foreign companies in Spain to determine difficulties facing investment in order to address them
