(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Waljat College of Applied Sciences (WCAS) will hold its fifth career fair at its campus on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Dr Mohan Varma, dean of WCAS, said, ''This career fair will bring together around 50 major companies based in Oman. Several top companies in the banking, construction, shipping, airlines, trading, manufacturing and education sectors will take part in the fair.
It will provide WCAS students and alumni a platform to gather information from employers and understand their requirements as well as the opportunity to submit their resumes for consideration.''
The fair will be held under the patronage of H H Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al Said, director general of marketing and media, Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development.
Varma said that the students of executive master of business administration, master of business administration, bachelor of engineering (CS/EC/biotech), bachelor of computer applications, bachelor of business administration, diploma holders and alumni will interact with officials of different companies and explore successful training and placement opportunities.
''We encourage students from other colleges and universities to attend the fair as we believe competition brings out the best in people. Students shouldn't rely on the government to provide them with jobs, and I believe the career fair will serve as a platform for exchanging views and ideas on how to further develop the sultanate and serve society while continuing to raise standards,'' he added.
