(MENAFN - Arab Times) Some lawmakers are discussing about submitting a draft law to impose the government to obtain the approval of the National Assembly before providing financial loans to other countries, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources. They indicated that the parliament has decided to study the law and vote for its approval after a group of MPs stressed the need for such a law so that the government obtains approval of the National Assembly before granting loans worth KD 5 million and above

They revealed that the proposal will be presented in the coming parliamentary session and will pass through all constitutional conditions, indicating the possibility of the draft law being approved. Meanwhile, the Rapporteur of Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee Mohammad Al-Mu'ajil stressed the need to assign a number for all roads and areas in the country along with its names, reports Al- Qabas daily. He insisted that it is necessary and in line with international standards to number the roads and streets along with its names

Meanwhile, Al-Mu'ajil said the lives of those individuals whose names are given to streets and roads must be studied to ensure their contributions, sacrifices and services they made for the sake of Kuwait. He refused replacing the current street names with new ones, insisting on filtering the suggested names provided for naming streets and roads. In the meantime, the Development and Reform Committee of the Municipality Council recently held a meeting with an official from the Canadian universities who is an expert on the roads and traffic, reports Al-Seyassah daily

Chairman of the committee Abdullah Al-Kandari said the committee discussed with the expert the traffic problems in Kuwait and sought solutions. He added, the findings show it is necessary to know the capacity of the roads and the number of road users to find a problem to nearly 80,000 cars registered annually, believed to be new cars, something which will lead the country into a dark tunnel. He said there are 5 strategies that should be adopted, including the creation of smart roads, the distribution of lands, the design of roads away from accident prone places, look for information on crowded places. He disclosed, all these strategies have been applied by many neighboring countries, which means Kuwait comes last when it comes to thinking in this manner and implementing these strategies

Meanwhile, the Municipal Council has approved the recommendations of the Structural Design Committee on the establishment of a new residential city next to Abdullah Al-Mubarak, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Mohammad Al-Me'jal, Mane' Al- Ajmi and Osama Al-Otaibi were assigned to the Street Advertisement Fact Finding Committee at the session alongside Fahad Al-Sane' and Meshal Al-Juweizri, and the council referred the majority of letters it received to the administration, including the proposed relocation of the Capital Governorate slaughter house and the livestock market

The discussions covered a request submitted by Hassan Kamal urging the council not to authorize the demolition of any historical building, unless the council has taken a decision in that concern. Osama Al-Otaibi said the idea of the government striving to demolish the Kuwaiti heritage buildings is not welcome. He noted the buildings have historical weight. That's why the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters was prompted to report the incident to the Municipal Council
