(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Al Nahda inched closer towards its third domestic title when it edged Majees 2-1 in the Omantel Professional League (OPL) at the Sohar Sports Complex on Saturday.
Al Nahda tops the table with 51 points after 22 matches; nine points ahead of its closest rival Fanja, which is in second place with 42 points, though the latter has played a game less.
Majees, meanwhile, is certain to be relegated after it stayed in the penultimate place in the 14-team league with 13 points.
Also, Saham managed a 3-1 win over Al Shabab to move up to fourth spot with 33 points, while Shabab remained in tenth place.
At the Seeb Sports Stadium, Musannah jumped three places into sixth place after beating Sur 1-0.
Musannah currently has 31 points and is just behind Dhofar, which is in fifth place with 31 points, on goal-difference.
And at the Al Saada Sports Complex in Salalah, Al Nasr edged Al Arouba 2-1 to move one place up into 11th place with 27 points. Arouba remained in eighth position with 29 points.
