“on paper kkr are a very very balanced side. i have been three different teams in the ipl and i have to say that the way they have treated me thus far has been very forthcoming and warm. and you can see that it is like a family and there is a lot of care that goes around within the unit” uthappa told the khaleej times on wednesday.
Uthappa said that momentum will be key to going all the way in the tournament.
“the team looks really good but then again it is t20. but it is about which team does well on that particular day. and also in a tournament like this momentum plays a big part. as a unit when you have momentum going your way you tend to do well a lot more. so it is important that even though you have a good side you need to have momentum going your way. one win under your belt and then you create a momentum and then it builds.
There are going to be a couple of losses but you have to sustain that momentum build on that. those are the teams that actually do well” he added. uthappa was pleased to be back in abu dhabi after eight years. he was here in 2006 when india played pakistan over two odis to open the shaikh zayed international cricket stadium. the tournament was titled the dlf cup.
“it is good to be here in the uae. i was the part of the team that played two odis here in abu dhabi against pakistan in 2006. memories were coming back when i hit the ball today. the wickets are a little slow and does keep a little low” he said.
