I considered suicide says bradley

(MENAFN- Kora) Bradley and pacquiao will go head-to-head for the wbo welterweight title in las vegas on saturday two years after the american stunned the boxing world.

Bradley was given a split-decision win over pre-bout favourite pacquiao which was subsequently booed by the crowd.

It also ended the filipino's seven-year unbeaten run.

Bradley was subjected to death threats and endless abuse following the bout and speaking ahead of the duo's rematch at the mgm grand hotel and casino this weekend the 30-year-old said he was forced to overcome the 'darkest period in his life'.

"did i consider suicide? hell yeah" said bradley.

"i would be sitting in bed with my wife thinking about what people were saying and writing about me.

"i was thinking 'not only i don't want to box anymore - i don't even want to live anymore. this sucks. it's not worth it.'"

Bradley added: "beating pacquiao was supposed to be the turning point in who timothy bradley really is but instead it became a very dark point and time in my life.

"the boos turned into hatred and then hatred turned into death threats. i felt i had done enough to beat pacquiao but everyone was out to prove that i hadn't.

"this was supposed to be my night but instead it turned into a night where an icon not only lost but was also 'robbed' by me.

"everyone sat there shocked without realising that i had just done what i set myself to do. no-one stopped for a second and acknowledged my accomplishment."
