(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Omantel issued its annual sustainability report under the theme 'Your World, Your Oman.' The 2013 report reflects the integrated communication services provider's commitment towards its different stakeholders and highlights the economic, social and environmental activities and efforts carried out by the company last year.
The second edition of the report, which is issued to coincide with the annual general meeting of the company, provides a comprehensive overview of the achievements made by Omantel over the past year.
Commenting on the launch of the report, Laila Mohammed al Wahaibiyah, manager of corporate social responsibility at Omantel, said, ''The launch of the second sustainability report comes as we strive to embed sustainability in every part of our operations and follows up on the successful launch of the first report in the middle of 2013. We are proud to be one of the leading companies that produces sustainability reports in the country, and this reflects our transparency and commitment to all stakeholders.
''Building on the success of the first report, this year's report is issued against the new GRI guidelines (GRI 4). The Omantel board and management have a firm belief in and commitment towards sustainability as it paves the way for future success," Laila added.
'The sustainability report provides a comprehensive overview of the activities and events carried out by Omantel in 2013. The report has been divided into three sections - 'Your World, Your Omantel,' 'Your World, Your Society' and 'Your World, Your Future.' The report provides information about the company's organisational chart, ownership structure, legal status and performance during 2013,'' she said.<
