France trade deficit decreases to USD4.7b in Feb

(MENAFN) France's dropping energy product imports helped reduce the country's trade deficit to USD4.7 billion in February, down from a deficit of USD8.1 billion, Xinhua reported

A spokesman for the Foreign Affairs and International Development Ministry said: "This monthly result, still unsatisfactory, is partly explained by a significant reduction of imports, especially of our energy supplies.

The country's exports registered a marginal drop of 0.2 percent in the month hitting USD49.8 billion, while imports fell from USD57.6 billion in January to USD54.5 billion in February

The French government said that the total trade deficit in the past year came at USD81.3 billion
