Parliament human rights cmte visits Central Prison


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Parliamentary Human Rights Committee paid a surprise visit to Central Prison to get acqauinted with wing procedures implemented in prisons and services provided to inmates in accordance to international standards and human rights

During the visit, the Committee, which included MP Faisal Al-Duwaisan, Chairman, Dr. Oudah Al-Ruwaie, Rapporteur, MP Dr. Abdulkareem Al-Kandari, and MP Adnan Abdulsamad, met with a number of male and female inmates, visited children nurseries at women prison, and met with social workers to review female inmates'''' requirements, Media department at National Assembly said in a press statement

The committee members were accompanied by Acting Assistant Undersecretary of Correctional Institutions Major-General Khaled Al-Deyain, Director of the Central Prison Department Colonel Shereida Al-Shammari and Director of Women''''s Prison Colonel Marzouq Al-Mutairi, added the statement
