(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Oman and South Korea, a Korean cultural show will be held at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, on April 21. The cultural extravaganza will feature shows by troupes, The Gwangdae, Coreyah, and Morning of Owl.
The Gwangdae will present a variety of traditional performing arts such as pungmulnori (traditional farmers' percussion music and hat spinning dance), talchum (mask dance drama) and pansori (long solo epic song).
Coreyah is a folk music group comprising four traditional musicians as well as a guitarist and a percussionist. Their music is a mix of the traditional and modern. The group has taken part in the 2012 Belgium World Music Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013.
The performance by the group will include Let's Make a Feast, Full Moon, A Walk into the Sea and Dondollariyo.
Morning of Owl, unlike ordinary B-boying teams, focuses on storytelling and dramatic interpretation. The group received high praise after premiering Haromonize at the Breakin' Convention, one of the biggest B-boying festival held at Sadler's Theater in the UK.
Entry to the event is free. It will begin at 7.30pm.
