Pistorius recounts moment of shooting


(MENAFN- Kora) The six-time paralympic gold medallist is charged with the murder of ms steenkamp after shooting her dead at his home on february 14 2013.


The 27-year-old claims that he mistook his then girlfriend for an intruder and made a tearful apology to ms steenkamp's family on monday.


Pistorius returned to the witness stand at the court in pretoria south africa on tuesday reiterating the stance that he was convinced that an someone had broken in to his property.


"that's the moment that everything changed" pistorius said. "i thought that there was a burglar that was gaining entry to my home."


Pistorius told the court how he grabbed a gun as a measure of self-defence before proceeding to the bathroom.


He continued: "i heard a noise from inside the toilet what i perceived to be someone coming out of the toilet."


It was at that point that he shot through the door.


The trial continues.
