HE Chief of Staff Inaugurates First Forum for Military Colleges


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ha April 08 - Under the patronage of HE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Major General Hamad Bin Ali Al Attiyah HE Chief of Staff Major-General Ghanim bin Shaheen Al-Ghanim inaugurated Tuesday the first forum for military colleges and universities at Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College. A number of ranking officers at the armed forces and guests from inside and outside the State of Qatar attended the forum's opening ceremony. Commander of the College Brigadier Hamad Ahmed Ali Al Nuaimi said in a speech said that the forum reflected the college's commitment to excellence. He described the forum as an unprecedented event in the region. He added that the purpose of the forum was to examine international and Arab developments in military training which can help present make proposals to improve the academic and military education in military colleges and universities. The Brigadier said that the Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College established back in 1996 was based on the directives of the wise leadership of the state at the time which saw the importance of establishing a military college in Qatar. For his part HE the Chief of Staff while speaking to the media men said that the forum was held based on the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. His Excellency said that it was an opportunity for military academics to help develop the academic side of the Armed forces. Al-Ghanim also praised HE Minister of State for Defense Affairs'directives for ordering that the armed forces work on implementing all the positives taken from the forum
