(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ha April 08 - Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) in collaboration with the Blood Donation Unit of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) organized yesterday a blood donation campaign "You are the Life". This initiative is a part of the QFMA's role and commitment towards its social responsibility in the country. This campaign aims to promote the importance of blood donation develop values of solidarity giving and giving between donor and beneficiary and to cultivate the community service in the QFMA's staff the QFMA said in a press release issued here Tuesday. This campaign was held at the QFMA headquarters with a participation of the employees wishing to donate blood who met the necessary criteria and were considered eligible donors. Before any blood could be collected the health history of every donor was carefully assessed by a specialist medical team from HMC's Blood Donation Unit in order to ensure the highest standards of safety. Volunteers also received a brief examination during which certified nurses measured their temperature pulse blood pressure and hemoglobin levels
