Tokyo Stocks Continue to Fall on Yen's Rise US Shares' Slides


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) kyo April 08 - Tokyo stocks fell Tuesday for the third consecutive trading day mirroring further declines in US shares and the yen's appreciation as investors awaited Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda's press conference after the market's close. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 201.97 points or 1.36% from Monday at 14606.88. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 22.28 points or 1.86% lower at 1174.56 according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency. The market showed only muted reaction to the BOJ's decision at its two-day policy meeting through Tuesday to keep intact ultraloose monetary easing to beat deflation as it was largely in line with expectations
