(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) hran April 08 - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said that Iran's proposed ambassador to the United Nations Hamid Abutalebi is absolutely competent for the position. Talking to reporters during her weekly press briefing here on Tuesday she made the remarks when asked if Iran would propose another person to replace Abutalebi. Afkham said Iran has named its ambassador to the UN and done the necessary correspondence for his visa through appropriate channels (IRNA) news agency reported. She said Iran thinks its proposed ambassador is totally qualified for the position given his good effective and positive performance in his past diplomatic missions in a number of European countries as well as in Australia. She said Iran is following the issue through diplomatic channels and will make decisions after receiving feedbacks from official bodies
