32 Taliban Militants Killed in Afghan Operations


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) bul April 08 - At least 32 Taliban militants were killed and eight others were injured during counter-terrorism operations in Afghanistan. The Interior Ministry of Afghanistan issued a statement Tuesday saying that the militants were killed or injured during coordinated operations in the past 24 hours according to the Afghan (Khaama Press). The statement further added that the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan national police Afghan national army and Afghan intelligence-national directorate of security (NDS) operatives. At least 11 Taliban militants were also arrested during the operations which were conducted in Kabul Maidan Wardak Logar Kapisa Ghazni Kunar Nuristan and Helmand provinces interior ministry said. The statement by interior ministry also added that Afghan national security forces discovered and seized various types of weapons and explosives during the operations. Afghan national polices forces confiscated two improvised explosive device (IED) during operations in Nangarhar and Bamiyan provinces interior ministry said. Taliban militants frequently use improvised explosive device (IED) to target Afghan and coalition security forces. Interior ministry said the IEDs in Nangarhar and Bamiyan were recently planted by Taliban militants for terrorist attacks
