Japan, Australia sign bilateral trade deal

(MENAFN) Japan and Australia have recently agreed to strengthen bilateral free trade relations between them through deals after seven years of negotiations, according to Qatar News Agency. Under the deal, Tokyo will lower its tariffs on beef from 38.5 percent to the 20 percent range, while Canberra will abolish its tariffs on Japanese automobiles. Australia's deal with Japan is considered one of the country's priorities, said Abbott, who is visiting Tokyo on the first leg of a northeast Asia trip.
