Japan Posts 1st Current Account Surplus in 5 Months in February


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) kyo April 08 - Japan posted its first current account surplus in five months in February as growth in securities investment income outweighed a trade deficit stemming from surging fossil energy imports government data showed Tuesday. The surplus in the balance one of the widest gauges of international trade for a country stood at 612.7 billion yen down 5.7% from a year earlier according to Japan's News Agency (Kyodo). The current account surplus was the smallest for the month of February since comparable data became available in 1985.
