(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Samsung Gulf Electronics launched its 2014 UHD TV series, including the Curved Ultra High Definition (UHD) TV, in Dubai on Monday.

Young Soo Kim, president of Samsung Gulf Electronics, and Vinod Nair, general manager of TVs at Samsung Gulf, were present at the event.

The company has blended innovative Curved TV design with its UHD TV technology to offer a new theatrical experience. ''At Samsung, we understand that the home entertainment experience is valued highly by our customers across the region. And, we are excited to introduce them to an unparalleled viewing experience never seen before,'' Nair said. ''Our new line-up of curved and UHD TVs brings together exceptional picture quality.''

Nair said that the company is seeing good response to its products in the Omani market. ''We have witnessed 12 per cent growth in Oman in the first quarter this year, and we hope this will continue in the coming months. We want the curve series to do well in the regional market.''

Developed with an optimal curvature of 4200R, Samsung's curved screens offer a presence not seen on flat screens. Creating a wider field of view with a panoramic effect, the display looks larger no matter what angle it's being viewed.

Providing the best picture quality from a viewing distance of 3-4m, the combination of the curve and UHD technology creates the ultimate immersive viewing experience, bringing images to life and enveloping viewers in spectacular colour, clarity and detail.

Its Curved TVs are augmented by Auto Depth Enhancer, which automatically adjusts contrast, giving a 3D effect without the need for glasses. Colour is further enhanced on these sets with Samsung's Pure Colour technology, which reproduces colour as filmmakers providing more detailed shades.

The proprietary technology converts full HD, HD and lower resolution sources to nearly-UHD clarity through a unique four-step process that includes signal analysis, noise reduction, detail analysis and finally, upscaling, so everything looks better on Samsung UHD TVs. UHD Dimming technology helps to further optimise picture quality by processing each block of a picture and delivering deeper blacks and improved contrast.

Samsung Curved UHD line-up (U9000) will be available from next month onwards at leading retail outlets across the region in 105'', 78'', 65'' and 55'' models.

The Samsung UHD lineup (U8500) will be available in 65'', 60'', 55'' and 48'
