Asian shares fall ahead of BOJ statement

Asian stocks declined for the second straight day, after a correctional move started with the beginning of this week. Traders are waiting for the Bank of Japan to announce its new decisions Tuesday after the policy meeting, which may cause fluctuations in the market.

The MSCI Asia Pacific Index slid 0.6% to record 137.69 as of 9:44 a.m in Hong Kong, having all 10 industry groups on the gauge in red.

Japan`s Topix index declined 1.6% along with a rising yen, while South Korea`s Kospi index slid 0.3%. On the other side, Australia`s S&P/ASX 200 index fell 0.4% and New Zealand`s NZX 50 index retreated 1%.
