(MENAFN - Arab News) The education ministry launched an electronic system for the employment of female substitute teachers on sunday.
the ministry said that the process for hiring female teachers will be carried out in compliance with job requirements.
these include passing "qiyas" an assessment test administered through the national center for assessment in higher education (nca) personal interviews and physical fitness exams in addition to meeting job criteria.
nca tests are given to high school graduates as a prerequisite for admission to saudi government universities.
applicants will have to specify whether they are applying for educational or administrative posts online. candidates for administrative roles must choose to work in only one educational department.
candidates who have failed to secure a teaching placement will be able to apply for administrative work.
the ministry of education explained that substitute teachers will be distributed among education departments according to preferential standards and the needs of every sector.
the education directorate in taif has called on substitute teachers to upload their personal data at http://tkml.moe.gov.sa/portal.
the recruitment closes on april 18.
norah al-faiz deputy minister of education in charge of women's affairs said that the royal decree approving the appointment of substitute teachers and graduates of medium-level colleges and education centers will positively affect the sector as a whole by opening doors for qualified female teachers to participate in the kingdom's progress and revival.
al-faiz extended her appreciation and thanks to the education minister khaled al-faisal for his encouragement and support.
"the positive impact of this issue does not stop at the appointment process but implies more positive results on the community as a whole and on human cadres in particular" said al-faiz.
