S. Korea's shipbuilders orders falls 70 percent in March


(MENAFN) South Korean shipbuilders saw a strong drop in new orders by over 70 percent in March compared to the same period 2012 on ship prices rise, according to Qatar News Agency



Clarkson Research Services reported that South Korean shipyards received 434,774 new orders compensated gross tons (CGTs) in March, down 70.1 percent from 1.45 million CGTs a year ago



The number accounted for 22.8 percent of the total global ship orders, with South Korean shipyards outpaced by Chinese rivals
