ORA to organise Oman Real Estate Conference

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Oman Real Estate Association (ORA), in association with Al Nimr Conferences, will organise the inaugural Oman Real Estate Conference on May 25-26 at the Al Bustan Palace hotel.

The conference will focus on the future of the real estate market in Oman, while tackling the need for enhancing regulations, and the important issues and challenges facing the real estate sector. The details of the conference were announced by ORA officials at a press conference at the Intercontinental Muscat on Sunday.

Eng Mohammed Salim al Busaidi, chairman of ORA, said, ''We believe it is the right time to organise this important event for the real estate sector. For the past years, we have witnessed the rapid economic growth of Oman and such development also demands the appropriate enhancement of our regulations and policies, particularly in the real estate sector and the need to create a synergy between the association, industry and the government in order to achieve sustainable growth.''

Hassan Mohammed Juma, ORA board member and managing director of ERA, Oman, said that the objective of the conference is to gather local and international industry leaders and experts to share their views on the future of the real estate market in Oman and to tackle important issues and challenges facing the sector. ''It will also explore how the upcoming mega projects will impact our real estate sector. Oman's real estate market is seeing growth. The implementation of the standardisation of salaries in 2013 has motivated lots of Omanis to acquire properties and buy houses. The ease of getting credit and mortgage from the banks, along with huge investments in infrastructure projects, have given a boost to the real estate market.''

The conference will host local, regional and international speakers, who will also present case studies relevant to the development of Oman's real estate sector.

''We have a number objectives to be achieved through this conference, of which a major one is to emphasise on the need and implementation of regulations in the real estate sector. We have the regulations, but we need to ensure the implementation. By having more regulations, investors will be encouraged to invest more in real estate. This will further enhance investor confidence in the real estate sector,'' Juma said.

Since its inception in 2012, ORA - a non-profit organisation – has been organising various initiatives and forging strategic partnerships with key industry players to effectively contribute to the development and growth of the real estate sector and professionals in Oman.

''We are honoured to partner with the ORA to organise this year's inaugural conference'' said Salim Omar al Hashmi, chairman of Al Nimr Expo, adding, ''We are excited to bring together a roster of international speakers from the US, UK, Belgium, Singapore and the UAE to the table for the benefit of the real estate sector in Oman.''

The conference will also feature an exhibition that will provide a unique opportunity for participating companies in the real estate industry to develop new networks and to showcase their latest projects and other services related to the
