Manufacturing companies in Zimbabwe struggling to export

(MENAFN) The majority of manufacturing companies in Zimbabwe are not producing for export as a result of domestic challenges, Xinhua reported

A survey by the government's trade body ZimTrade shows that most companies aim for production at full capacity, therefore not being able to handle the export market

Additional companies suffered from high production costs pushing their prices out of competitiveness in the export market

An advisor with Africa Corporate Advisors, the organization responsible for the survey, said: "Of the companies surveyed, 40 percent are currently exporting while 60 percent of the surveyed firms are not exporting. Of those currently exporting, the results show that they are exporting a maximum of about 40 percent of total production.
