(MENAFN - #Qatar News Agency) The GCC Athletics Championships for Men and Women resumed its second day Saturday at the Khalifa International Stadium, with #Qatar still top of the table. The Qatari team garnered a total of 23 medals: 14 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze. Speaking to #Qatar News Agency (QNA), #Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) Secretary-General Mohammed Jassim Al Kuwari said that the players gained plenty from participating in the competition.



He praised he World-class level at which the State of #Qatar hosts different sporting events. Head of the Technical Committee at QAF Abdul Hakeem Al-Amri said that no team had any complaints during their participation, which reflected the high level at which the championship is being held. He added that he watched fierce competition between all the players involved. Al-Amri stressed that the competition was the perfect opportunity for player to prepare for the Asia games in June
