(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait University has given notices to many of its foreign employees to end their services, and sources have named Civil Service Commission (CSC) as the authority obliging the university to end the services of foreign employees to pave way for the implementation of "Kuwaitization" project, which other government establishments and ministries have been implementing, reports Al-Anba daily.
Sources said the Secretary General of Kuwait University Dr Nabil Al-Waghani tried to convince the Minister of Education and Higher Education Ahmad Al-Muleifi at the meeting of the university board to exclude the sector from the ''Kuwaitization'', but the minister refused.
Sources indicated several faculty deans have declined to replace foreigners with Kuwaitis, although the university's administrative affairs had sent end of service letters to foreign employees working in Kuwait University. In another news, Computer Department at Kuwait Teachers Society (KTS) organized technological courses for people with special needs supported by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The training courses aimed to train the category on technological programs to change their lifestyle and to provide an opportunity for them to discover their skills and talents. In a press statement, Jamal Al-Sowaiqan said the society is keen on coping with all technological developments in the field of information technology to support the people with special needs to open new horizons for better life
