Kuwait- Six Bangladeshis involved in visa scam busted

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Law enforcement agents have arrested six Bangladeshi members of a gang involved in visa scam.

The gang was using Nepalese passports to issue visas for compatriots whom the government has banned from entering the country, reports Al- Watan Arabic daily.

Security operatives caught the suspects inside their operation base in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh where they issued visas for KD 600 per deal, the daily added

Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry Lieutenant General Suleiman Al-Fahad has since directed the Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passports Major General Faisal Al-Nawaf to deal with the issue.

Based on the directive, Director General of Immigration Detectives Brigadier Ghazi Al- Mae has taken over the investigations to fish out the perpetrators. Apparently, the officers discovered that members of the gang have readily obtained visas on the names of Nepalese nationals, so they forged passports for Bangladeshis to enter the country as Nepalese.

During their arrest, the officers seized copies of the Nepalese passports, revenue stamps, scanner and a sum of money. They have since been referred to the authority for prosecution
