Naidu to use 3D tech for addressing rallies

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The telugu desam party (tdp) president is expected to present himself before the electorate in the ?virtual avatar? soon

The telugu desam party (tdp) president n chandrababu naidu known for his penchant for technology has chalked out plans to address elections rallies all over andhra pradesh using the 3d holographic technology.

Taking a leaf out of bharatiya janata party’s (bjp) prime ministerial candidate narendra modi’s election strategy the tech-savvy naidu is expected to present himself before the electorate in the ‘virtual avatar’ soon.

The holographic technology creates a three-dimensional projection of the subject giving an impression that the person is actually present at the venue. by using this projection and coupling it with audio the technology can be used successfully for campaigning.

Tdp sources said that as per the plans drawn up by the party naidu’s message would simultaneously reach out to the masses in 30 locations across telangana and seemandhra regions using 3-d hologram of the former chief minister.

The main opposition party faced with a do-or-die battle this time around is aggressively embracing new technologies to ramp up its electoral prospects. the party has already launched interactive voice response system (ivrs) to enable people to select candidates of their choice for the coming elections.

Under the ivrs campaign a recorded message from the tdp president would be sent to mobile users across the state including about 600000 party cadres with multiple options of four names each for the respective lok sabha and assembly constituencies.

The sources said that naidu was now gearing up to tap the potential of the 3-d technology and will address huge gatherings at important locations across the state. it is expected that the technology would be put to use within a week.

The tdp is planning to set up screens in key locations like hyderabad vijayawada and visakhapatnam and also some semi-urban places. “naidu feels that time constraints might prevent him from touring all the constituencies to campaign for the candidates. therefore he believes that using this technology would bypass this problem and also boost the confidence and prospects of tdp candidates” the tdp sources said.

The technology has been used extensively by modi since december 2012. in fact he was the first politician in the country to successfully use it as a campaign tool during elections. the 3d holographic technology was used to address rallies in 800 different locations.

Modi has even entered the guinness book of world records for “most simultaneous broadcast of the pepper’s ghost illusion a technology used to create multiple illusions simultaneously.”

The technology uses a foil that is invisible to the naked eye to create the effect of three-dimensional projection. the foil is placed at a 45 degree angle to the stage and the content from the projector is beamed on to the foil. the projections are reflected off the foil giving an impression that a real person is present on the stage.
