(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Pak government selling assets in the name of privatisation says ppp leader

Labeling the talks with the taleban as a deceptive move by the militants bilawal bhutto zardari has reaffirmed determination to fight taleban militancy in pakistan.

The patront-in-chief of pakistan people’s party (ppp) assailed the pml-n government for pushing the nation back to the dark ages by pursuing peace talks with the pakistani taleban. bilawal warned that once again daughters will be buried alive if the militant succeeded in imposing their ideology on the country.

Speaking in garhi khuda bakhsh to commemorate 35th death anniversary of his grandfather and former prime minister zulfikar ali bhutto he said the mess created by the government by engaging the militants in direct talks will again be washed by the blood of martyrs — a reference to sacrifices rendered by zulfikar ali bhutto and his mother benazir.

Criticising the government he said it was trying to sell the country’s assets in the name of privatisation but “we see that it’s personalisation”. “the federal government claims that it doesn’t have money to run the country and so i ask them will you then sell your country for money?” he said referring to the recently received $1.5 billion cash ‘gift’ from a friendly government.

About his grandfather he said: “zulfikar ali bhutto gave the world the vision of a modern islamic nation and he was the hope for the common man. he gathered leaders of the muslim world and gave this nation the nuclear bomb.” bilawal said that “this country needs a bhutto one more time”..

Referring to his mother also as a martyr he said she being a woman challenged the taleban which was actually her jihad against oppression and illiteracy.

Bilawal called the drought in tharparkar ‘intolerable’ and said it was the result of years of neglect. he did not name former chief minister arbab ghulam rahim but nevertheless he implicitly blamed him for the conditions in thar as he was elected from the area but paid no attention to the dire problem.

He announced that clean drinking water will reach each and every part of thar by 2018. asif zaradri spoke very briefly while several other ppp leaders including sindh chief minister qaim ali shah and jurist chaudhry aitzaz ahsan who paid homage to bhutto’s genius.

And service to the nation. bilawal was formally launched by his father and former president asif ali zardari as ppp chairman once again. in an emotional speech bilawal came down hard on the government for its peace initiative and privatization policy saying that “bhutto’s grandson is alive and ready to take up the challenge. — news?khaleejtimes.com
