Ghazi murder case: Court summons Musharraf on May 3


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Rejecting the plea for a permanent exemption from court appearance an additional session judge has summoned former president pervez musharraf on may 3 in ghazi abdul rasheed murder case

During the course of proceedings musharraf’s lawyer akhtar shah filed the exemption plea. he said that musharraf was facing life threats adding that his client was even targeted when shifting from hospital to farmhouse.


Prosecution lawyer tariq assad said the former military ruler can be summoned after making appropriate security arrangements.


After hearing the arguments the court exempted musharraf from saturday’s hearing while rejected the plea for permanent exemption. the court has now summoned musharraf on may 3.


Meanwhile in an unprecedented move musharraf’s farmhous has been declared as a “satellite facility” of the military hospital where he was admitted for three months following heart problems. a statement issued on the twitter of the 70-year-old former president said: “the home of general musharraf has been declared a satellite facility of the military hospital”.


Musharraf was admitted to the armed forces institute of cardiology (afic) on january 2 when he complained of heart problems on his way to a special court set up for his high treason trial for abrogating the constitution and detaining judges in 2007.


The statement on twitter said he is under constant supervision of a team of qualified military doctors. “a flying medical squad is assigned to the farmhouse and is capable of transporting him back to afic when needed” it said.
