(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Under the auspices of H E Hamed bin Khamis al Amri, Undersecretary, Ministry of Manpower for Labour Affairs, College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) held its graduation ceremony on April 2 at Al Bustan Palace hotel with 217 graduates.

Joining in the celebrations were H E Hamood bin Sangoor al Zadjali, Executive President, the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) and Ali bin Hamdan al Raisi, chairman,College Council. The ceremony was also attended by council members, guests, graduates, and their families and friends who rejoiced at the success of the graduates. Dr Ahmed bin Mohsin al Ghassani, Dean, said, '' Dear Graduands, On behalf of my colleagues at CBFS , I would like to congratulate you on successfully completing your studies and finding a place on the CBFS list of graduates.

I would also like to congratulate your parents and families who supported you throughout this journey. This ceremony includes 225 graduates from the different programmes offered at the College, including the Bachelor Degree from the University of Bradford (UK), The BTEC Higher National Diploma from Pearson/Edexel (UK), the Professional Certificate from the ACCA and the CBFS Diploma.

The college has plans for several future developments, including a new building next to the existing building; approval from the Ministry of Higher Education for offering the Masters of Science in finance, and for offering four bachelor programmes in accounting, finance and auditing; banking; business administration, and Islamic banking. It has plans for international accreditation of academic and training programmes.

Iain Ward delivered a speech on behalf of the University of Bradford in which he emphasized the importance of the partnership with CBFS studies and he also encouraged the graduates to continue their self and professional development after leaving the college.

Then the graduates Ali al Amri gave a speech on behalf of the graduates in which he said,'' Everyone who knows me would agree that throughout our time in College, my attitude changed drastically, this college didn't only help us in our academic careers, but improved us in every aspect of our life. I learnt in this College how to manage my time, how to work with others, and how to act professionally with my peers and superiors.

But I wouldn't say that everything I learnt was related to education, for in this College I also learnt how to respect one another, and that if you don't succeed at first you keep trying until you reach the heights of your dreams''. HE Amri expressed satisfaction at the success of the Omani graduates. He also congratulated all on the realisation of the objectives they set for themselves and clearly added that our graduates will always add to the growing pool of highly qualified Omanis working in the financial and banking sectors.

The college has been running for 30 years and had earned a reputation of contributing qualitatively success to nation building. The College has tied up with many international providers of academic and professional certification. CBFS are the Gold status holders as a tuition provider for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of United Kingdom.<
