Mercedes Benz Records 15.2% Sales Increase In Q1 Of 2014

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Carmaker giant Mercedes-Benz reported Friday an increase in its first-quarter sales thanks to a boom in premium vehicles across Asia. Sales jumped a massive 15.2% in the first three months of 2014, compared to the same period of the previous year.

German news agency (DPA) quoted Benz' Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Ola Kallenius saying that the company made a double digit growth percentage in every month in the first quarter of 2014. Sales in Europe rose 7.5 %.

Asia was the biggest gainer however; Japan saw 50.3% increase alone. China for its part, the world's largest car market, saw a 47.6% rise. The United States was the region with the least growth in rates, increasing by 5%
