Dubai Culture wins ISO 270012005 certification for Information Security management system


(MENAFNEditorial) The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate's dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, has achieved a milestone in its commitment to the 'Smart Government' initiative, by winning the ISO 27001:2005 certification for its Information Security management system.



The certification further underlines Dubai Culture's commitment to the fulfilment of the Executive Board of Dubai's Decree No. 13, 2012, passed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, to develop an integrated strategy to provide a protective environment for information storage, while underscoring the stringent standards and controls that have been implemented in securing the overall the technological infrastructure of Dubai Culture.



Dubai Culture leverages its Information Technology infrastructure to secure and protect customer data, while driving operational excellence and building customer trust and confidence



Mohamed Yousif Al Hammadi, IT Manager, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, said: "The ISO certification highlights Dubai Culture's commitment to be a key partner in the 'Smart Government' initiative announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. We will continue to strengthen our technological capabilities and explore opportunities that provide our stakeholders with a trusted framework to meet their needs.



A detailed risk assessment was undertaken, where the Authority's framework was evaluated for the vulnerability of its infrastructure. Its external services were also tested to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information. Its definitive policies and procedures were also studied to ensure they are tuned to the business needs of its stakeholders



Dubai Culture is currently in the process of expanding its scope to widen the reach of its technological competencies across all departments and sections to further drive productivity and efficiency
