UK construction PMI down in March


(MENAFN) Survey compiler Markit said that the construction purchasing managers' index (PMI) in the UK decreased marginally last month, Xinhua reported



Markit said that the construction PMI in the country fell to 62.5 in March, down from 62.6 in the month before it



Despite the figure being much below the January figure of 64.6, the PMI is still significantly over the 50 mark which indicates expansion



Senior economist at Markit said: "Expectations for construction growth over the year ahead have now reached their highest since the start of 2007, and a strong pipeline of new work is fueling job creation across the sector.
