UAE- Trio accused of using drugs in hotel room


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Two men and a woman who were arrested by the anti narcotics department from a hotel room have been charged in the court of first instance with the possession and use of drugs

According to prosecution records an emirati engineer identified as a.m. 35 and a palestinian manager h.r. 36 possessed around 78 grams of hashish and 3.8 grams of hashish mixed with nicotine for personal use. as many as 142 amphetamine tablets and other pills were also seized from them.


While a syrian woman tourist identified as r.b. 20 has also been charged along with a.m. for using amphetamine. h.r. has been charged with using the same type of narcotics and hashish.


An anti-narcotics police officer said in the prosecution investigation that they were tipped-off that a.m. and h.r. used and possessed a quantity of drugs.


“around 1am on december 14 last year we raided their room in a hotel in the marina area after getting a prosecution warrant” the officer testified during the investigation.


R.b. and another woman were also found in the room with the men but the police did not find any drugs on them.


A.m. willingly led the officers to the laptop bag in which he hid a quantity of hashish and narcotic pills. he told the officers that the bag belonged to him and h.r. and that the two women had nothing to do with it.


A.m. and h.r. admitted that they used hashish and amphetamine pills at the hotel room hours prior to the police raid. the two women denied any drug use. all were taken to the general directorate of narcotics for urine sample tests and tested positive except for one woman. no charge was pressed against her.— mary?khaleejtimes.com
