Wajid Shamsul Hassan to retire as envoy to UK


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Pakistani high commissioner to the united kingdom wajid shamsul hassan has decided to retire

According to sources imran mirza would be the acting pakistani high commissioner following the retirement of hassan.


Hassan has served as pakistani high commissioner to the uk for six years. this was his second stint. he was first appointed to the same office in 1993 by then prime minister benazir bhutto and quit when her government was dismissed in november 1996.


Last year wajid shamsul hasan had announced his resignation when pml-n took to power however the prime minister nawaz sharif refused to accept his resignation and asked him to continue serving as the high commissioner.
