(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Congress manifesto accuses the tdp ysrc and the bjp of creating hurdles in the path of division of the state

The congress which is in the process of giving the final touches to the separate manifestos for telangana and seemandhra is taking politics to ridiculous levels claiming credit for the creation of a separate state in its manifesto for telangana and blaming the telugu desam party (tdp) and ysr congress (ysrc) for the division of the state in its manifesto for seemandhra.

The manifestos are likely to be release in a couple of days. the manifesto worked out by telangana pradesh congress committee (tpcc) claims that telangana is a reality only because of the party’s commitment to the cause and the determination of party president sonia gandhi to take the issue to a logical conclusion. the manifesto accuses the tdp ysrc and the bjp of creating hurdles in the path of division of the state sources said.

The seemandhra congress manifesto however paints a diametrically opposite picture claiming that the ruling party was the last to give in to the demand for separate state after all the other parties including the tdp and ysrc gave their consent for the division of andhra pradesh in writing.

Other highlights of the telangana manifesto include promises to give the people of hyderabad a ‘safe city and smart city’ meaning protection for every citizen in the capital with all provisions like drinking water and drainage.

The apcc which claims its manifesto for seemandhra to be a ‘vision document’ speaks about short term mid term and long term development of the residuary andhra pradesh state.

The manifesto focuses on decentralised development by improving the coastal corridor network and development of private ports in the coastal region setting up industries based on mineral resources in rayalaseema region and creating an industrial corridor and a tourism corridor.

Meanwhile the tdp president who released the manifestos for telangana and rayalseema promised reconstruction and development of seemandhra and a backward class leader as chief minister of telangana if his party came to power in the new state.

Naidu also promised free mobile phones for women in the two states to ensure their safety. development of a new capital a bullet train development of ports developing road rail and air connectivity and industrial corridors are part of the scheme of things that tdp has chalked out for seemandhra.

Promising to install solar-powered agricultural pump sets in both regions with 75 per cent subsidy waiver of farmers’ loans and nine-hour free power supply to the farm sector naidu said: “my priority is agriculture and making the farm sector profitable. we will also develop allied agriculture services in a big way.”
