Tamil film shot in Oman to be screened in Oslo


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Manasu (Heart), a short film shot in Oman has been shortlisted for the 5th edition of Norway Tamil Film Festival (NTFF).


The film is written and directed by Thasleem Khan, an independent film-maker based in Oman. The ten-minute film is a story of sacrifice and unconditional love of a septuagenarian  fisherman for his neighbour.


Ten feature films, 20 short films, four documentaries, one animation film and eight music videos have been shortlisted for the festival, which will be held in Oslo, Norway, from April 23 to 27. Awards will be given out on final day of the festival.


Vaseeharan Shivalingam, director, NTFF, ''We are glad to receive the first Tamil film from the Middle East. Manasu was selected from among 40 entries in short films from Germany, France, Norway, UK, Canada and India.''


Khan said, ''The news is very inspiring and encouraging for all of us.'' The film was initially made for Indian Social Club's Tamil wing short film competition.
