(MENAFN) South Korean exports surged last month when compared to the month before it as demand for local products came strong, Xinhua reported
The country's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said that exports increased 5.2 percent from the corresponding month a year before, hitting USD49.7 billion
Imports during the month hit USD45.5 billion, increasing 3.6 percent and sending the trade surplus to USD4.19 billion
South Korea's exports account for nearly 50 percent of the country's economy
