Swedish Football Match Called Off As Fan Gets Killed


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) A Swedish football fan was killed Sunday in Sweden in riots that took place before a match between Helsinborg and Djurgaarden. German news agency DPA reported today that the 44 year-old man, who was a Djurgaarden fan, was struck over the head by an object and later died in the hospital affected by his wound. Despite the riots, the match was played normally. With the score 1-1 at the 41st minute of the first-half, word spread of the fan's death. Enraged by the news, Djurgaarden supporters attempted to invade the pitch and the Referee was forced to call the game off for security reasons
