(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Al Najah Education, the owner of Horizon English School, Dubai in partnership with the Muscat Overseas Group is planning to open a British curriculum school in Muscat.

''The education sector in Oman offers exciting opportunities and we are delighted to promote the Horizon' brand in Muscat. Favourable government regulations for international investors and relentless support from education authorities have given us the confidence to create an independent school which will benefit students, parents and society,'' Shailesh Dash, chairman, Al Najah Education was quoted in the release as saying.

Muscat Overseas Group will help in the construction while Al Najah Education will be the academic service provider for operating the school.

In recent years, Oman has actively pursued economic development through diversification, industrialisation and privatisation. To keep pace with technological advancements and to achieve international competitiveness, the government has increased emphasis on education and human resource development.

In 2012 budget, the estimated expenditure on education sector amounted to 13 per cent of the total public expenditure, the release stated.

''Oman education sector provides us the platform to demonstrate our regional expertise and bring forth world class educational facilities through the new school. We propose to build a British curriculum school offering over 1,350 places from FS1 to Grade 13,'' said Nrupaditya Singdeo, director, Al Najah Education.&nbs
