Sterling city made a smooth progress under joao moreira to pip the mount of olivier doleuze rich tapestry to secure a 1-2 finish for the hong kong horses in the $2m dubai golden shaheen group-1 the sixth race on the card.
Rich tapestry got first run off the turn but sterling city leveled off on the outside at the top of the stretch and caught the mahab al simal group-3 winner latev stretch to score by three quarters of a length in a final time of 1:10:88 for 1200m on the all-weather.
