Kuwait- Video shows police officer in brother's escape bid, firing in air

(MENAFN- Arab Times) A video has recently been circulating in social networking websites in which a police officer is seen firing gunshots into the air in front of a house while an old woman is facing him and screaming, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

Regarding the video, security sources explained that the officer is a criminal detective and has been detained in Saad Al-Abdullah Police Station for helping his brother escape from Jahra securitymen who were chasing him for driving a vehicle without a number plate. With the help of his two brothers, the officer also attacked the securitymen using a knife, due to which the latter sustained several injuries.

They went on to explain that the two Jahra securitymen called for backup to chase the suspect who was driving without a number plate and two other securitymen responded to the call. Eventually, the car chase ended at the gate of the detective's house.

The detective came out on the street with two of his brothers to attack the securitymen, thereby allowing the suspect, who is their brother, to escape. The detective pulled out a knife and threatened to attack them. He also fired his gun into the air to warn the officers from arresting his brother, which was the scene captured in the video clip.

Eventually, securitymen managed to arrest the detective with the help of backup officers and referred him to Saad Al-Abdullah Police Station for investigations and necessary legal action against him. Sources revealed that the suspect, two days before the incident, was released from police custody after he was arrested for vandalizing his neighbor's house and damaging several household items
