The dubai mall will be the first point of sale and the mall of the emirates will host the second store this year. there will be total of 10 stores across gulf countries in 2014 ramesh tainwala chief operating officer of samsonite told khaleej times during the launch news conference in dubai.


Us luggage maker samsonite acquired hartmann on august 2 2012 with a $35 million cash transaction. samsonite has more than 100 years of experience in the industry while hartmann joined samsonite with its more-than-140 years of finest craftsmanship.


Talking about the company’s three years plan for hartmann tainwala said: “we see a total of 25 stores by 2016 in the gcc for hartmann. we will also add 15 new samsonite stores in the region this year. the company already has 50 stand-alone samsonite stores across the region.”


He said the company expects more than $25 million sales in the gcc this year. earlier this month the firm declared its annual profits that reached $176.1 million from $148.4 million in 2012 with net sales crossing a record $2 billion up 15 per cent from the previous year.


The company plans to launch its world-renowned collection in only five cities across asia by the summer of 2014. the dubai launch is part of the company’s strategy to tap into the affluent middle east market.
