S Korean Consumer Sentiment Remains Strong in March


(MENAFN- Qatar New s Agency ) South Korean consumer sentiment remained strong in March, staying flat compared with the previous month as economic uncertainty lingers despite improvement in economic activity, the central bank said Thursday.



The consumer sentiment index (CSI) came in at 108 for March, unchanged from the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK



The index is a gauge of consumers' overall economic outlook, living conditions and future spendin



In January, the sentiment index reached a 35-month high of 109, according to South Korea's news (Yonhap0. A reading above 100 means that optimists outnumber pessimist



The survey, based on a poll of 2,032 households nationwide, was conducted from March 12-1



Asia's fourth-largest economy is widely seen as being on the recovery track, although the fourth-quarter growth slowed from three months earlie
