Kuwait- Acquittal challenged in Shiite doctrine offense case


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Court of Appeals adjourned to April 23 the appeal submitted by the Public Prosecution and plaintiff attorney Jaleel Al-Tabakh against the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance, which acquitted Dr Abdullah Al-Nafeesi of allegedly violating the national unity law and offending the Shiite doctrine. Earlier, the Public Prosecution filed three state security cases against Dr Al-Nafeesi, which he denied during investigations. He stressed that his statements during the seminar titled 'The Safavids' were based on information published in local newspapers. After investigations, he was released on bail worth KD 5,000 but a travel ban was placed on him
