British Home Secretary Visits Police Training Institute


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) British Home Secretary Theresa May on Tuesday visited Police Training Institute (PTI) and was received by Brig. Dr. Mohammed Abdulla Talib Al-Mahanna Al-Marri, the director general of Police College; Brig. Badr Ibrahim Al-Ghanem, the director of Technical Office for HE the Interior Minister; and a number of PTI officers. Al-Ghanem reviewed existing cooperation ties between Qatar's interior ministry and British police, which resulted in the implementation of several programs and courses that provide trainees with the necessary skills and modern techniques to do their job. For his part, Brig. Dr. Al-Marri said the visit was fruitful and constructive as it dealt with aspects of cooperation between the two sides in the field of training and exchange of expertise within the frame of memoranda of understanding between Qatar's Police College and each of Manchester Metropolitan University, College of Policing, and Greater Manchester Police, which were signed in January.
