Malaysia's PKFZ to Generate Revenue of RM100 Million Annually

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Malaysian Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project in Pulau Indah, which currently has a 94% occupancy rate, is expected to generate a revenue of RM100 million a year in about five years, said Port Klang Authority (PKA) Chairman Teh Kim Poo. He said this was because PKFZ, managed by Port Klang Free Zone Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned unit of PKA, has offered investment opportunities to multinational companies that have a potential reach to the vast market covering the Asean countries and regions beyond, according to Malaysia's (Bernama) News Agency. "This would enable PKFZ to generate revenue of RM100 million a year in five years compared with only RM40 to RM50 million currently. PKFZ has offered investment opportunities to world-class multinational companies like China-based SM International, Global Vietnam Aluminium and Schlumberger which had already set up its centre of excellence for repair and maintenance works. The PKFZ, located next to the West Port in the Malaysian Pulau Indah, was meant to be a regional export hub with manufacturing activities, complemented by amenities to facilitate the growth of regional distribution centres or international procurement centres
