Kuwait- 'MP queries MoI on theft of assault rifles'

(MENAFN- Arab Times) MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji says he submitted a query to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid Al- Sabah regarding the theft of assault rifles. He indicated that he personally met the minister and handed over information that he deems useful, due to his intention to cooperate with the minister

However, the minister was confrontational in his response, which made him wonder about the minister's answers. He added, "If the minister does not have an answer, then we are in trouble".

He revealed that one of the minister's responses was that the stolen assault rifles are not a threat to the national security. MP Al-Turaiji described the official report of the incident as a dramatized script, as the report explained that the three rifles, which were hanging around an officer's neck while he was diving, came loose and fell to the seabed after the officer hit a marine creature. In addition, he said he confronted the minister about a number of issues related to the Special Forces, but was not satisfied with the minister's answers

Furthermore, he urged the minister to either enhance his supervision or submit his resignation, adding that the Head of the Special Forces Ali Madhi was once revered for his efforts but he is no longer accepted by the National Assembly due to his alleged involvement in a number of suspicious activities
