Kuwaiti forfeits huge cash to save his neck at Cairo airport


(MENAFN- Arab Times) An unidentified Kuwaiti who arrived in Egypt carrying in his baggage 170,000 Egyptian pounds was arrested by the Cairo International Airport police, reports Al- Shahed daily. According to Egyptian law incoming passengers - tourists and citizens cannot carry on their person more than 5,000 Egyptian pounds



The daily added the Kuwaiti passenger was referred to a thorough check on suspicion and when the airport authorities checked his baggage they found the money hidden among the personal belongings. The Kuwaiti reportedly opted to forfeit 165,000 pounds in lieu of being referred to the Public Prosecution
